WorldNetDaily 7/22/99 J R Nyquist "… I first heard of Bill Clinton 16 years ago. Here is how it happened. I was getting a teaching credential, and one of my classes was on adolescent psychology. The professor in this course, who was a very admirable teacher, seemed to favor me. One day, after class, she invited me to a 7 p.m. meeting at the Science Lecture Hall. At the time I didn't know she was a Marxist, and I didn't know the meeting would be political. She said that if I cared about education in the state of California I would attend. Having the night off from work I decided on going, partly owing to curiosity. Well, I couldn't have been more surprised if it had been a coven of witches. Arriving early at the Science Lecture Hall, I found communist literature -- books and pamphlets -- stacked on tables in the lobby. A visiting professor was the speaker. He gave a rousing talk on overthrowing the "dictatorship of the bourgeoisie" in America. How would this be accomplished? By taking over the Democratic Party through its left wing. The speaker said it was possible to elect a stealth socialist president, who would effect a peaceful transition to socialism during the next great economic down-turn. Capitalism would be unmasked as a bankrupt system. The people would then support a new socialist system. All businesses would be nationalized by the government and run like the Post Office. This socialist president, said the speaker, could be elected in either 1988 or 1992. The only problem was that of timing. When would the next major economic downturn hit? Some days later I went to visit my professor at her office hours. We talked about the speaker and the book he had written. We talked about Marxism and the idea of changing the system. Then, suddenly, my professor said: "We have such high hopes for this young Arkansas governor, Bill Clinton." That was the first time I heard Bill Clinton's name. …"

WorldNetDaily 7/22/99 J R Nyquist "… But it wasn't the first time I'd heard this idea of taking over the left wing of the Democratic Party and electing a stealth socialist president. I'd first heard that idea in 1981, when I was a senior at the University of California. The left wing activist, Derek Shearer, came to speak on the subject of "economic democracy." Two radical friends of mine dragged me to hear him, though I had my heart set on a game of chess that day. So I went to listen to Shearer's talk, and I sat there in the front row, concentrating on his theory of "economic democracy," thinking to myself: This is just like Marxism. After Shearer finished speaking I went up and asked him, point blank. "Mr. Shearer, what is the difference between Marxism and "economic democracy"? He looked at me a bit suspiciously for a second, then he said, "I probably shouldn't say this, but there is no difference." I had a long discussion with Shearer about why he wasn't a forthright Marxist. He said that Marxism was unpopular with the American people, who have a knee-jerk negative reaction to words like "socialism" and "communism," even though -- according to Shearer -- these are perfectly good words. Therefore, in order to win Americans over to socialist ways of thinking, you need to create a new, euphemistic language -- a kind of linguistic deception. Shearer also talked about taking over the Democratic Party through its left wing and electing a stealth socialist president. As it happens, Derek Shearer is a friend of Bill Clinton….."

WorldNetDaily 7/22/99 J R Nyquist "…Does anyone remember that Hillary Clinton arranged to give $15,000 to the National Lawyer's Guild -- an organization founded in the 1930s as a branch of the Communist Party USA -- when she chaired the New World Foundation? Does anybody deny her assistance to various Marxist-inspired causes, from the Black Panthers to the Christic Institute and CISPES (a front for Central American Marxist terrorists)? Bill Clinton was not merely a draft evader during the Vietnam War. The truth is, he was for the Viet Cong terrorists. And that is why he went to Moscow and Prague almost 30 years ago. That is why he married the young radical, Hillary Clinton. And that is why he was friends with Derek Shearer. It also explains why my professor of 16 years ago, who was a Marxist, had such high hopes for that young governor, Bill Clinton. Seven months ago an intelligence professional, whose credentials are impeccable, told me something quite alarming. He told of a taped conversion between two Czech Communist officials. They were discussing a young American college student -- Bill Clinton -- who was then visiting Prague. They mentioned that he was expected to attend a meeting at a certain place which was reserved for the recruitment of Communist bloc agents. "Where is this tape now," I asked. "Nobody seems to know," he answered….."

WorldNetDaily 7/22/99 J R Nyquist "…In February there was another curious incident involving a retired CIA official. This particular fellow was genuinely alarmed at information he had on President Clinton's ties to the Russian security services. When pressed by a famous journalist to provide details, the CIA man shrank away. Publicity is death to people involved in secret intelligence work. And now, more recently, I have received information from a third source inside U.S. intelligence. His story is even more fantastic. It is so fantastic that I dare not repeat what he reported…."

From Freeper exton1: Former FBI agent, Cleon Skoussen, in 1958, in his book, THE NAKED COMMUNIST, revealed among other things, these long term goals of the communist agenda. The information is in the Congressional Record August 1963 and in the Communist Manifesto:

Hillary Rodham did her post Yale Law school internship with Robert Treuhalft Esquire in Berkley Calif. He was the lawyer for the Communist Party of the United States.

7/8/98 Fox News "President Clinton said Wednesday that closing an income gap between the races could help ease racial tensions in America."I think that whenever possible, if you think that there is a class- related or an income-related element in the difficulties we have with race, we ought to have income-based solutions to it,'' Clinton said.

The Washington Times/Inside the Beltway 10/26/98 John McCaslin ".This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Communist Manifesto, and don't think some Americans aren't celebrating. The Center for the Study of Popular Culture notes that the anniversary was recognized by a "rave review" in the New York Times by Steven Marcus, the former dean-turned-professor of English and comparative literature at Columbia University. "Professor Marcus hailed a tract that calls for civil war against the democracies of the West, and that has inspired the murder of 100 million people in the Third World as 'a prophetic array of visionary judgments on the modern world,'" says the CSPC.."

People's Weekly World: a publication of the Communist Party USA CP-USA 10/10/98 Gus Hal ".An even bigger Republican majority in Congress and a veto-proof Senate will bring about a sharp turn to the right in the political direction of our country. It will transform the ultra-right danger into a political reality. For this reason, this election is different than any other. The stakes are higher. The politics, forces and issues make this perhaps the most important election in U.S. history..... To change the balance of forces in Congress we have to work to defeat the whole Republican Party, not just the right- wingers. Voting on issues like jobs, education, housing, Social Security, welfare, Medicare and Medicaid means voting against all Republicans.... "

1994-1995 Relevance from Freeper SIT-REP "...According to a State Department Publication 7277-Freedom from War, The disarmament program, and transfer of weapons to the UN, would occur in three stages...

Stage One Requires:

*Test Ban and Anti Ballistic missile treaties --A limited test ban and ABM treaty were signed into law in the sixties...

*Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaties and progress on modest nuclear weapons reduction... --The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Agreement was signed in 1968 and the SALT-I and SALT-II treaties were signed in the 70's

*"UN Peacekeeping powers would be strengthened" and an unarmed "Peace observation group" formed...

--Observer groups have been in operation in the mid-east and a host of other troubled spots for over three decades...

*The armed forces of the United States and the Soviet Union would be limited to 2.1 million men each. --by 1976, the US and the USSR had dropped its total force levels to 2.1 million men--The precise number demanded by 7277. They were maintain to this level well into the 80's...

*Peaceful use of outer space would be promoted and advance provided before launchings... --The two super powers, have had numerous cooperative space missions and in November of 1994 announced the merging of us Alpha station and the Russian Mir Facility.

*an International disarmament organization will be established... within the framework of the UN --The UN Disarmament Commission would appear to partially satisfy this requirement although a new organization with actual powers to enforce arms verification is being used.

With the exception of the last one, Stage one is now complete...

Stage Two Demands...

*...the dismantling or the conversion to peaceful uses of certain military bases and facilities where ever located. --After initial closures in 1989, the Base Closure and Realignment Commission(BRAC) shut down 164 US Military installations and realigned 93 others...Russia claims similar reductions...

*...further substantial reductions in the armed forces, armaments and military establishments of states...

--Our total armed services have dropped to 1.6 million men and women in uniform. The Intermediate Nuclear Force(INF) and Counterforce Europe(CFE) Treaties of 1988 and 1990 drastically slashed nuclear and conventional forces on both sides...

*Reductions in...strategic nuclear weapons delivery vehicles and countering weapons... --The Start I and II treaties were signed in 1991 and 1993, drastically reduced nuclear weapons and delivery systems, both of which we are dismantling in large numbers, along with our weapons grade plutonium factories...

*The establishment of a permanent international peace force within the UN, which will be progressively strengthened... --On April 12th, 1994 the UN announced that more than 15 countries pledged over 54,000 troops towards the creation of the UN Peace Force. The entire NATO force may infact be signed over to the UN to form corps of the world army...

Stage Three

But isn't it a positive thing--getting rid of all those weapons and releasing soldiers to peaceful, private sector jobs... It must be emphasized that although there is a lot of disarmament going on, the remainder of the weapons will be transferred to the Blue Helmets. This means no US Army. No US Navy. No Air Force and no Marines...Nothing except internal security forces. The UN Army on the other hand, would be unchallengable. As presented earlier: "In Stage III, Progressive, controlled disarmament and continuously developing principles and procedures of international law would proceed to a point where no state would have the military power to challenge the progressively strengthened UN Peace Force.[Emphasis added] In this final stage, "[s]tates would retain only those forces, non-nuclear armaments, and establishments required for the purpose of maintaining internal order..(page 9 of Pub, 7277)

THE WASHINGTON TIMES 11/10/98 Greg Pierce ".As the House Judiciary Committee debates whether President Clinton committed an impeachable offense, it's worth noting the company kept by some of his most outspoken defenders. Balint Vazsonyi, the Hungarian emigre classical pianist who is prodding conservatives in the Republican Party through his writings and speeches, was surprised to discover five of those Judiciary Committee members on the Web site of the Democratic Socialists of America. The DSA is "the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International." Listed among the 58 members of the House Progressive Caucus, proud promoter of the DSA's "Progressive Agenda," are Democratic Reps. John Conyers Jr., the committee's ranking minority member, Barney Frank of Massachusetts, Maxine Waters of California, Robert C. Scott of Virginia and Jerrold Nadler of New York..So while the House Judiciary Committee wrestles with the process of impeachment, perhaps the greatest demand the Constitution makes of legislators, Mr. Vazsonyi points out, they are aligned with a political philosophy at odds with that Constitution. "The rule of law is essentially neutral," says Mr. Vazsonyi, who grew up under the national socialism of the Nazis and later the Communists. "Socialism removes the blindfold and makes law the servant of its political agenda."."

Capitol Hill Blue 11/12/98 Scott Hogenson ".Fifty-seven Democrats in Congress are members of a policy group that's working with and being promoted by the Democratic Socialists of America, the domestic branch of the Socialist International Party, according to the party's Internet web site. According to the party, the "DSA is working with the Congressional Progressive Caucus, a network of more than 50 progressive members of the U.S. House of Representatives," in an effort to enact a political agenda which includes, among other things, "economic redistribution" and "social and environmental justice." The Socialist Party website makes no mention of whether any congressional Democrats are actively involved in other DSA activities besides the caucus they've formed to support DSA initiatives, which include "government job creation," socialized medicine by "expanding Medicare eligibility to people of all ages and income," and unspecified "economic, social, and cultural rights," according to the DSA web site. Organized labor and organizations wanting to demilitarize the United States are among the groups embracing the agenda being touted by DSA and House Democrats who are members of the caucus. Other supporters include Americans for Democratic Action, which calls itself "the nation's oldest independent liberal political organization, the labor-backed Campaign for America's Future, and a number of radical student and environmental groups."

Insight Magazine 2/22/99 James Lucier ".Progressive Democrats have a strategy of labeling GOP conservatives as extremists, but the ideology of the House Progressive Caucus may be the most extreme in Congress. Immediately after the impeachment of Bill Clinton last December the president called together a private gathering of supporters at the White House. Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler of New York, a denizen of the House Judiciary Committee and a member of the House's Progressive Caucus, emerged to tell the New York Post that Clinton himself told the meeting that "the Constitution was being trashed by Republican ex- tremists." And California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters, another fiery-tongued Judiciary member who also is on the Progressive Caucus, said, "Bill and Hillary are the real targets, and the Republicans are the vehicles being used by the right-wing Christian Coalition extremists to direct and control our culture.".."

Washington Times 2/5/99 Letters to the Editor June 7 - Arlington, VA ". During the past several months in the American press, the Democrats have frequently denounced the Republicans as Nazis due to their attempts to control runaway federal spending. How very ironic. I remember the Nazis. Let me share a little about them and recall some of their exploits. First of all, 'Nazi' was gutter slang for the verb 'to nationalize'. The Bider-Mienhoff gang gave themselves this moniker during their early struggles. The official title of the Nazi Party was 'The National Socialist Workers Party of Germany'. Hitler and the Brownshirts advocated the nationalization of education, health care, transportation, national resources, manufacturing, distribution and law enforcement. Hitler came to power by turning the working class, unemployed, and academic elite against the conservative republic... Being a Nazi was 'politically correct'. They called themselves 'The Children of the New Age of World Order' and looked down their noses at everyone else. As Hitler acquired more power, he referred to his critics as 'The Dark Forces of Anarchy and Hatred'.. The Nazi reign of terror began with false news reports on the Jews, Bohemians and Gypses who were said to be arming themselves to overthrow the 'New World Order'. Hitler demanded that all good people register their guns so that they wouldn't fall into the hands of 'terrorists and madmen'.Right-wing fanatics of the 'Old Order' who protested firearms registration were arrested by the S.S. and put in jail for 'fomenting hatred against the Government of the German people'. Then the Reichstag (government building) was blown up and Hitler ram-rodded an 'Emergency Anti-Terrorist Act' through Parliament that gave the Gestapo extraordinary powers. The leader then declared that for the well-being of the German people, all private firearms were to be confiscated by the Gestapo and the Wermotten (federal law enforcement and military.Public schools rewrote history and Hitler youth groups taught the children to report their parents to their teachers for anti-Nazi remarks. Such parents disappeared. Pagan animism became the state religion of the Third Reich and Christians were widely condemned as 'right wing fanatics'.. Evil was declared as being good, and good was condemned as being evil. World Order was coming and the German people were going to be the 'peacekeepers'. Yes, indeed, I remember the Nazis and they weren't Republicans, or 'right wing', or 'patriots' or 'militias'. They were Socialist monsters.."

Flyer passed out by the Progressive Labor Party 8/7/99 from Freeper Clinton's a Liar "...No Free Speech for Racists Stop the Neo-Nazi March on Washington A new Neo-Nazi group is planning to have a march Saturday August 7th starting at 20th and I Streets NW at 3pm and ending with a rally at Lafayette Park in Washington, DC. Join us in militantly protesting this march..... FACISM AND WAR Many elements of fascism are already in place -- more jails, prison labor, welfare "reform", the "war on drugs" (really a war on young black and latino men), and escalating police brutality. Increased competition will lead to war over control of markets. A fascist mass movement to support these policies would help the U.S. capitalists maintain control at home, forcing us to take economic hits and to fightin a war for their prifits which isn't in our interest. The Neo-Nazis are one element in building such a mass fascist movement. We must stop it. SMASH CAPITALISM -- FIGHT FOR COMMUNISM To stop fascism permanently, capitlism must be destroyed. Capitlism's drive for maximum profits causes war, racism, and exploitation. To destroy capitalism we need a communist revolution. With communism, workers collectively control everything. There will be no money or wage system. People will work according to their ability and receive according to their need. Join the Progressive Labor Party to protest these fascists and fight for Communism. PROGRESSIVE LABOR PARTY For more info, call (301) 779-7432..." "...The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International (also in Francais and Espanol). DSA's members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly socialist presence in American communities and politics. At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. We are activists committed not only to extending political democracy but to demanding democratic empowerment in the economy, in gender relations, and in culture. Democracy is not simply one of our political values but our means of restructuring society. Our vision is of a society in which people have a real voice in the choices and relationships that affect the entirety of our lives. We call this vision democratic socialism - a vision of a more free, democratic and humane society.....We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo....We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships...."

WorldNetDaily 8/13/99 Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr. "...Buford Furrow's bloody rampage is over, and now begins the predictable propaganda campaign to score political points. With egregious sleight of hand, the American "right wing" will be demonized. No doubt, the media will get around to blaming talk radio and the Internet Notice that some events precipitate wide-ranging discussions on political philosophy, while others do not. After a series of school-yard killings in which the murderers were linked to violent Satanic cults, and even after it was shown that the deranged kids set out to kill students who believe in God, there was no hunt for atheistic "left-wing extremists." That would have been an unseemly attempt to use tragedy to advance a partisan agenda.....Of course, the media are free to define terms however they like, but the fact is that the ideological origins of Nazism are with the left. The term Nazi itself is short for the National Socialist German Workers Party. Nazism was fashioned as a totalitarian nationalist alternative to the totalitarian international socialism of the Lenin model. But national or international, the relevant word is socialist, which should be the first tip-off to Nazism's leftist origins.....Furthermore, as Robert Proctor showed in "Racial Hygiene: Medicine Under the Nazis" (1988), the Nazis were health fanatics who banned cigarette smoking, promoted vegetarianism and organic gardening, engaged in abortion and euthanasia, frowned on all capitalist excess, and even promoted animal rights. They were environmentalists who locked up land from development to promote paganism. The Nazi government introduced socialized medicine and government-mandated vacations at government spas, imposed handgun control, and expanded unemployment "insurance" and Social Security. The Nazis opposed the traditional calendar and wanted to replace it with one centered on race and nation rather than faith and family...." 9/12/99 J R Nyquist "....More than 20 years ago, when I was a freshman in college, I met some people who were involved in something called "The Alliance for Survival." They were anti-nuclear activists. They loved whales, trees, endangered species of all kinds and little fishies. They opposed nuclear power because it was bad for the environment and for the future of the world. Little did I realize that the organizers and leaders of this group were leftist radicals who hated the U.S. military and the free market. Their real goal was the nuclear disarmament of the United States. I didn't discover this until a friend took me to one of their marches, which included a candle-light vigil. The speeches that I heard at the event did not evidence much love and concern for the environment, but were instead filled with a burning hatred of the United States, the U.S. armed forces and the capitalist system. The Alliance for Survival was not merely an environmentalist group. It was one of those false fronts in which environmental concerns were hijacked and used to fuel a socialist revolution. Direct experience with those people opened my eyes, and for the first time I saw how causes could be manipulated and exploited by people with a hidden agenda......"

Wall Street Journal 10/12/99 Jim Guirard ".....Jacob Heilbrun's Oct. 1 editorial-page essay "Nobel Committee Is, Well, Red" is correct to remind us that the last three recipients of the Nobel Prize for literature (Dario Fo of Italy, Jose Saramago of Portugal and now Gunter Grass of Germany) have all been what we should call "communoid"--meaning communist like. These are typically leftist "intellectuals" who no longer, or perhaps never did, quite admit to being communists, but who are perpetual apologists for the criminality of that variety of police-state socialism. Little do these highly educated but invincibly ignorant people realize that the fascist-right they abhor and the fascist-left they embrace are actually one and the same. Here are what several experts have to say on the subject: -Susan Sontag: "Not only is fascism (and overt military rule) the probably destiny of all communist societies-especially when their populations are moved to revolt-but Communism is itself a variant, the most successful variant, of fascism." -Adolf Hitler: "The petit bourgeois Social Democrat and trade union boss will never make a National Socialist, but a Communist will...There is more that unites us than divides us from Bolshevism...above all the genuine revolutionary spirit."....."

WorldNetDaily 11/1/99 Joseph Farah "…..No, I didn't watch the so-called debate between Al Gore and Bill Bradley last week. I didn't think I would learn anything. I was wrong. Had I watched, I would have learned that the Democratic Party's top leadership -- not just a fringe element within the ranks -- is so deeply and uncompromisingly committed to the ugliest and most totalitarian aspects of socialism as to represent an imminent threat to freedom in this country. I refer to the observations made by Bill Bradley when asked, in essence: Who were the three greatest leaders in world history? Without so much as a whimper of protest from his opponent, nor a guffaw from the hand-picked Democratic Party activist audience present, Bradley said there are "three values ... important that a leader has to have. One is absolute integrity -- honesty and integrity. And there I think of Jimmy Carter. Second, I think that a leader has got to have the ability to see around the corners, to see the future before it's here. I think Woodrow Wilson had that. What he talked about America became America in the 20th century. And next, I think a leader has to have courage. Example of that, I would pick somebody who's not an American, Mikhail Gorbachev, who saw that the world was (changing), and had the courage to make that change." …..It says a lot about Bradley that he chose Gorbachev as one of three outstanding world leaders of all time. He did not choose Noah, Moses, nor King Solomon. He did not choose Jesus Christ, nor the Apostle Paul. He did not choose George Washington, nor Thomas Jefferson, nor James Madison. He did not even choose Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, nor Ronald Reagan. No. He chose Gorbachev, an unrepentant Communist tyrant who dropped bombs that looked like toys in a genocidal war against the Afghan people in our own lifetime!….." 10/27/99 Llewellyn H. Rockwell Jr. "…..In the last election season, the media gleefully reported that the socialist left was resurgent all over the world. The Socialists came to power in France, the Social Democrats took over in Germany, the Labor Party won a massive victory in Britain, and the Clintonites didn't do half bad in the U.S. The great right-populist revolt of the mid-1990s had fizzled, not only at home, but all over the world. The Third Way -- socialism without the ideological edge -- was the wave of the future. So they told us. This season, however, matters are shaping up differently, and we are already seeing the first signs that the establishment is panicking. The People's Party of Switzerland, for example, which departs radically from the establishment's position on a wide range of issues, has made impressive gains in the recent elections. It won 44 seats in parliament, which means that it is second only to the Social Democrats, who lost three seats and now hold only 51…… In Austria, Joerg Haidar's Freedom Party has also made electoral gains, coming in second in recent national elections. The platform is similar….. …. In times of relative peace and prosperity, however, the reverse threatens: people begin to see the political elite as arrogant and overextended, and demand that their power be curbed, even overthrown. We live in such times…"

Worldnetdailynews 10/25/99 Geoff Metcalf "…..According to what the mainstream disseminators of misinformation and disinformation tell us, "We won the Cold War and Communism, although not quite dead, is dying." That's their story and they're sticking to it. However, even a casual analysis of facts in evidence suggests a distinctly different reality. Since 1991 I have been distributing in various forms a list of Communist goals and objectives. First I would mail a list to anyone who asked for it and promised to copy and distribute it to friends, enemies, family and associates. Later (and still) I have an abbreviated list posted to my web page. W. Cleon Skousen authored a 1958 book titled, "The Naked Communist." I have tried, unsuccessfully, to invite Skousen onto my radio talk show, but he is quite elderly now and eschews talk radio. "If I did it for you, everyone else would want to do interviews, and I'm too old and tired. ...Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to determine how many of these Communist goals have already been accomplished.

U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.

U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.

Develop the illusion that total disarmament (by) the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength.

Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.

Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites.

Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.

Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N.

Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N.

Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.

Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N.

Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.)

Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.

Do away with all loyalty oaths.

Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office.

Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.

Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

Gain control of all student newspapers.

Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policymaking positions.

Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."

Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a "religious crutch."

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.

Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man."

Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the grounds that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture -- education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.

Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.

Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.

Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.

Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand (or treat).

Sobran's 7/99 Joe Sobran "…..What I like to call the Hive - the informal socialist apparat that uses "liberal" rhetoric - differs from the classic Left in its avoidance of naming its ultimate goals. Today the old socialists and Communists of yore seem quaintly naive in their ingenuously open espousals of revolution. In the old days The New Republic could say: "In order to have socialism, we must have a new Constitution." Socialists recognized frankly that socialism would be impossible under the Constitution, and they didn't pretend otherwise. The Old Left proclaimed its creed boldly, hoping to galvanize "the masses." That changed when the "progressives" saw that honesty, for their purposes, was not necessarily the best policy. Even the "working classes" feared and hated socialism, so there was no prospect of socialism's winning through either bullets or ballots. At this point the progressives adopted a subtle strategy: they chose evolution over revolution. Instead of abolishing the Constitution, they would control its interpretation. It would become a "living document," of fluid and adaptable meanings. If you can't win by the rules, change the rules! And do it in such a way that most people hardly notice you're doing it….."

The American Spectator 8/92 Daniel Wattenberg "….Hillary served in 1987-88 as director and chair of the board of directors of the New World Foundation, a philanthropy dedicated to the support of "progressive activist organizations," as she puts it in her foreword to the group's annual report for 1987-88. While the foundation (ranked as one of the country's ten most liberal in a recent Capital Research Center monograph) does back some fairly well-known liberal groups (Norman Lear's People for the American Way, Randall Robinson's Trans-Africa Forum, and the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund), under Hillary it also financed a number of groups associated with the hard left. ….."

CISPES was founded at meetings in New York City in 1980 by Farid Handal (brother of El Salvador's Communist party chief Shafik Handal), who had come to the United States to mobilize American support for the FMLN, the major Communist guerrilla organization in El Salvador. Also in 1988, New World gave $2,500 to Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, a group dedicated to exposing conservative bias in the media, especially the television networks. That's right, conservative bias….."

The American Spectator 11/30/99 John Corry "…. The New York Times has come to grips with domestic Communism. Time was up, and it had to. Consequently a cover story by Jacob Weisberg in the Times magazine -- "The Rehabilitation of Joe McCarthy" -- finds that (a) Americans, including Alger Hiss and the Rosenbergs, probably did spy for the Soviet Union, but it happened a long time ago, and is of no consequence now, and (b) even if they did spy, the useful work in counteracting them was done not by conservatives but by liberals. For as Weisberg concludes, "It was liberal intellectuals like Arthur Schlesinger, Jr. and Reinhold Niebuhr who developed the most useful understanding of the Communist threat." Apparently the conservatives were correct on a few unimportant matters, but on the big issues the liberals were right all along. Weisberg's clever piece is, in part, a Times attempt to reposition itself without admitting, or even hinting, that much of its past coverage was wrong-headed and wrong. Weisberg writes, for instance, that when the National Security Agency "began releasing Venona documents four years ago, it became clear that they had been vastly useful, exposing Julius Rosenberg and many other spies in the United States government."…. Denver Rocky Mountain News 12/10/99 Mie Rosen "….Socialists are driven by a combination of ideological fervor and animus towards capitalists. It's a philosophy based on envy and resentment, dressed up as "social justice." Once upon a time, socialist doctrine called for government ownership of the means of production. As we move into the 21st century, the rhetoric of socialism has become more sly and euphemistic. As long as government controls the terms of production through regulations and mandates, and the fruits of production through taxation and redistribution, ownership of the means of production is a mere formality. As a matter of fact, the appearance of private ownership provides a wonderful cover for Big Brother when conservatives throw around inflammatory terms like "socialism." The "S" word is out of fashion these days. Contemporary socialists are now called liberals or, as they prefer, "progressives."….."

National Review 1/5/00 Ramesh Ponnuru "….The winner of Wednesday night's Democratic presidential debate wasn't Bill Bradley or Al Gore. It was the Republican who'll be running against one of them in November. In trying to outrace each other, Bradley and Gore are running too far to the left. Consider their answer to the question of whether a liberal could win the election. Both men kept to the post-Dukakis Democratic script - don't accept the liberal label - but then went on to list all their liberal positions. Later in the debate, Gore came out for full public financing of campaigns: Are millions of taxpayers dying to send him money? How well are the Democrats' gun-control views going to play in the South and Rocky Mountain West? Gore said that teaching creationism would violate the separation of church and state - a position he didn't want to take before the primaries heated up. Discussing health care, Gore was quick to associate himself with Ted Kennedy, who had endorsed him earlier in the day. What are the odds the Democratic nominee is going to be posing for pictures with the hero of Chappaquiddick in mid-October? …."

The Washington Times 1/6/00 Dave Boyer "….Vice President Al Gore and former Sen. Bill Bradley rang in a new year of presidential debates last night with their testiest confrontation of the Democratic primary, clashing over their liberal credentials on gun control, homosexuals in the military and regulations to limit campaign donations. …… The contest came as a new poll released this week showed Mr. Gore and Mr. Bradley in a virtual statistical tie……. Earlier in the day, Mr. Gore received the endorsement of New England's liberal icon, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, after heavy lobbying of Mr. Kennedy by the White House and the Gore campaign…..Last night's debate took on an added sense of urgency, heightened by dozens of students who chanted slogans like "Gore Go Home" outside the debate hall….."

The New Australian 1/25/00 James Henry No. 104 "…. The state of American education being what it is, the vast majority of people are totally incapable of recognising a fascist economic program, even when it is used to slap them in the face. This is because they have not been taught that fascism means state direction of the economy, cradle to grave 'social security', complete control of education, government intervention in every nook and cranny of the economy - and the belief that the individual belongs to the state. This was Clinton's State of the Union vision, which is why those chowder-heads that call themselves journalists loved it. People cannot grasp that fascism is socialism because they have not been taught to distinguish between form and substance. They do not realise that once the state controls everyone's property that property now belongs to the state because control is ownership, no matter who possesses the deeds. In this situation, might is right….. Just reflect for a moment on his proposal to save social security by investing taxpayers' money in the stock market. By controlling a company's shares the state would come to own the company. It would not even have to control a majority of the shares. It would then dictate where the company would invest, in what it would invest and where it would invest. This is precisely how Mussolini and Hitler ran their economies. The term for this is central planning. But America is different, or so the likes of Dan Rather and Gerald Rivero would claim. But does anyone imagine for a moment that the likes of Bill and Hillary would hesitate to use that power? …."

The Washington Times 2/2/2000 Balint Vazsonyi ".... No, this will not be about the president's State of the Union address. .... No, the thoughts about to follow were prompted by the Republican response. Sen. Susan Collins, Maine Republican, began her speech with the following sentence: "Our Republican agenda is driven by the simple but powerful truth that America will continue to lead the world as long as our government allows opportunity, initiative, and freedom to flourish." Allows? Government allows? Is there a single passage in the Constitution of the United States that asserts, or even implies, it is the prerogative of government to allow citizens this, that or the other? Is it not the letter and spirit of the Constitution to define what government may or may not do? Having spent my 20 years in a country where, indeed, citizens anxiously awaited government decrees, the mindset of hoping for the benevolence of government is familiar. On occasion, the government would allow athletes and artists to travel abroad so long as their hard-currency earnings were turned in. Or, the government would allow the formation of a non-communist patriotic organization on a trial basis. But in America? We look to government to allow freedom? Readers of this column might well have become exasperated by excessive references to socialism, its agenda and vocabulary. Perhaps this annoying preoccupation could be reappraised now. Consider: It was not one of the 58 declared socialists who make up the Progressive Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives; it was not a closet-socialist like Sen. Edward Kennedy. It was the Republican response to the State of the Union that demonstrated the presence of the socialist mindset......... "

The Washington Times 2/2/2000 Balint Vazsonyi ".... Socialism is not a person, not a conspiracy, not even ideology any more. It has become a degenerative process that gradually eats away at a person's common sense and powers of reasoning, not unlike leukemia eats away red blood cells. The first symptoms are certain words and phrases - some quite innocuous - that creep into everyday use: reactionary, capitalism, exploitation, working Americans vs. the wealthy, private sector, human resources department, world peace, politically correct, social justice, economic justice, or calling people fascists. ......The next stage is a growing preoccupation with problems that, by definition, cannot be solved, such as disease, poverty or world hunger. Tangible and useful work in the community is replaced by blustery slogans that lead to inaction and the early emergence of megalomania, such a 8-year-olds who want to save the Earth instead of learning to write their names. In the adult world, it leads to politicians who, for example, preach about global warming, instead of providing the service they had been elected to perform....."

The Washington Times 2/2/2000 Balint Vazsonyi ".... By contrast, the socialist mindset expresses itself by making up laws - and handing down opinions -based on an agenda of social justice. And since people's view of social justice changes all the time, the need is for new laws all the time. Lots of them. Thousands of them. And once we have been tied in knots by them, we become supplicants hoping that "our government will allow opportunity, initiative, and freedom to flourish." In no time, we look to government to educate our children, to manage our health, to supervise our relationships, to settle our most private disputes......"

the clairmont institute 2/1/2000 Bruce Herschensohn ".... In the former Soviet Union, the rules were clear. The citizen was granted cradle-to-grave "security" at the cost of liberty. That had to be the cost, because any government that guarantees personal security has to pay for it and governments don't have money of their own. Government can't give a citizen anything that it hasn't first confiscated from another. President Clinton didn't use the term "cradle-to-grave" to describe his agenda in his State of the Union address last week, but had he put his proposals in order of the progression of life, it would have been clear that all he left out was the purchase of a cradle and the laying of a gravestone. Putting the new proposals in their order of life, the president started with government funds (which, of course, mean taxpayers' funds) for child-care. When those years are done, there will be government funds available for pre-school. This is followed by a number of government programs for kindergarten through the twelfth grade, including after-school activities and mentor programs. Now, we assume, the young American is ready to go on to college or to work. No problem in Clinton's Kremlin. Government will be involved in funding for college. And if going to work is the choice of the young American, there will be a higher minimum wage to greet the new employee. To get to the place of work, there will be new government programs for transportation, including transit systems, roads, and even the cars that will be driven. ....."

Ether Zone Online 2/1/2000 Paul Proctor ".... I can think of no better illustration of liberalism than the leash. Yes, I'm referring to that little chain with a handle on one end and a clip on the other, that allows one to control an animal. Liberals in Washington don't create big government, absurd rights, self- serving laws, endless taxes and perpetual welfare to improve the lives of the people they claim to serve. They create big government, absurd rights, self-serving laws, endless taxes and perpetual welfare to justify the leash. Once the leash is accepted by the majority, "the big man" takes the handle and "the little man" gets clipped. (ala; "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely") Many people today are waking up to the fact that so-called "liberal leaders" are in reality global socialists, who view the common man as a mere animal, without any value outside their exclusive control. This leaves no room for a higher authority, including that of the Bible, with it's teaching of right and wrong, not to mention one's own accountability to it's Author. Christianity has therefore always been the antithesis of global socialism because it undermines the elitist agenda of global control. God addressed the centralization of power long ago by destroying the Tower of Babel, dispersing mankind and imposing upon him a complex and confusing array of languages that made it difficult, if not impossible, to communicate and thus re organize against His sovereign authority. Since that time, many have come and gone trying to play god and "conquer the world" by force or attrition......"

Front Page Magazine/Salon 1/24/2000 David Horowitz "....A FEW YEARS AFTER THE FALL of the Marxist utopias, I found myself on a sofa in Beverly Hills, Calif., sitting next to a man who was worth half a billion dollars. His name was Stanley Gold and he was chairman of a holding company that was the largest shareholder in the then largest media corporation in the world, Disney. Since I was working on a conservative project in the entertainment community and the occasion was a cocktail reception for a Republican senator, I quickly moved the conversation into a pitch for support. But I was only able to run through a few bars of my routine before Gold put a fatherly hand on my arm and said, "Save your breath, David. I'm a socialist." I remember this story every time a leftist critic assaults me and deploys the Marxist cliché that I have "sold out" my ideals, or suggests that an opinion I've expressed can be explained by the "fact" that somewhere a wealthy puppet-master is pulling my strings. I am not alone, of course, in being the target of such attacks, which are familiar to every conservative who has ever engaged in a political debate. Of course, those who traffic in socially conscious abuse have a ready answer for anecdotes like mine, namely that it is an isolated and aberrant case. Even if it's true, therefore, it's false. ..... In the fantasy world of the left, the figure of Stanley Gold can only be understood as a human oxymoron: a uniquely good-hearted capitalist who is a friend to humanity and a traitor to his class. But, then, so are such famous left-wing billionaire (and centi-millionaire) moguls as Ted Turner, David Geffen, Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Michael Eisner, and a hundred others less famous but equally wealthy. In fact, the only exceptional thing about Stanley Gold's politics is that he is also a witty and candid fellow. For, unlike the publicly self-identified progressives named above, the CEOs of most major corporations studiously avoid ideological politics whether left or right, because such politics are not at all in the corporate interest. To become identified with a hard political position is to become a sitting target for opponents who may control the machinery of regulation and taxation and exert life-and-death power over their enterprises......"

The Orlando Sentinel 2/13/00 Charley Reese "….A book that created a sensation when it was published in France is now available in English. I can't think of any book that would be more important for Americans to read. If you are going to read only one book this year, make it The Black Book of Communism. This is an 800-page history of the terror, repression and killings of communism stretching from the Bolshevik Revolution to the present. Written by scholars who are ex-communists or former fellow travelers, the book establishes beyond doubt that communism is the greatest crime against humanity in the 20th century. Harvard University Press published the book. The conservative estimate of the number of people killed by communists is 100 million, or four times the number estimated to have been killed by Nazism. Yet 50 years after the destruction of Nazism, Americans still are regaled with its horrors while the worst horrors of communism are ignored. Worse yet, American leftists and amoral businessmen are still trying to paint a human face on the communist monster. ……"

Reuters/Zogby (via Yahoo News) 2/11/00 "….. The largest percentage of Americans now identify themselves as political moderates, according to a recent Zogby poll. In a February survey of 1193 adults, 31.5% of respondents said they were an ideological moderate, but an almost equal number claimed to be Conservative. In addition, a tiny 4.9% said they were very conservative. Approximately 20% were self-described liberals, and the remaining 7.5% said they were progressive/very liberal. ……"

World Net Daily 2/5/00 Jon Dougherty "….You know, if we had functional government, every single one of the House's 53-member Progressive Caucus would be impeached and thrown out of office. If they were lucky, we'd allow them to escape their ordeal without any jail time. That's because -- if we had a functional government -- these "progressives" would be exposed for what they really are: socialists, pure and simple. So why would they be impeached? Because this isn't a socialist country -- or isn't supposed to be, anyway. Our Constitution enumerates specific and limited roles for government, none of which coincide with the state-sponsored, big government agenda of socialist lawmakers. Therefore, they should be removed -- that is, if we had a functional government in the first place. Barring that, concerned Americans will just have to settle for exposing these people for what they really are, then move to get rid of them by "retiring" them at the ballot box. Yesterday a story published by Politics Live! said the House Progressive Caucus -- which does have one Senate member, Democrat Paul Wellstone of Minnesota -- did not see much good in this country, despite our record economic performance, relative peace in the world and second-to-none superpower status. According to caucus members, in order to be a really great country, you have to agree to "support further cuts in outdated and unnecessary military spending, a more progressive tax system in which wealthy taxpayers and corporations contribute their fair share, and a substantial increase in social programs designed to meet the needs of low-and-middle-income American families." You have to agree that "these goals fit within an overall commitment to deficit reduction," and that in order to achieve these goals more and bigger government is the only way to do it. …..Time for a reality check, socialist boys and girls. …."

Capital Hill Blue/AP 2/4/00 John Hughes "…..Happy times are here, right? The stock market keeps climbing, unemployment is low, home ownership is high and inflation is low. But on the day President Clinton proclaimed the state of the union ``is the strongest it has ever been,'' a cadre of lawmakers who gathered in Room 2253 of the Rayburn House Office Building insisted an awful lot is getting worse. More people live in poverty than a decade ago, roughly 44 million lack health insurance and people work longer for less pay, they said. And that was just the beginning. ``The United States has the largest-ever trade deficit ... meaning hundreds of thousands of lost jobs,'' said Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Ore. Millions of children are hungry. ``There is no excuse for that,'' said Rep. Bernard Sanders, an independent from Vermont. ``The least we can do is raise the minimum wage,'' pleaded Rep. David Bonior, D-Mich., the House minority whip. Welcome to the Progressive Caucus, a group of 53 mainly dyed-in-the-wool liberals who fight for the downtrodden, defeated and dejected, focusing on Depression-era issues during a high-tech economic boom. …."

WorldNetDaily 2/8/00 Jon Basil Utley "…Although Joseph McCarthy was one of the most demonized American politicians of the last century, new information -- including half-century-old FBI recordings of Soviet embassy conversations -- are showing that McCarthy was right in nearly all his accusations……. Using new information obtained from studies of old Soviet files in Moscow and now the famous Vanona Intercepts -- FBI recordings of Soviet embassy communications between 1944-48 -- the record is showing that McCarthy was essentially right. He had many weaknesses, but almost every case he charged has now been proven correct. Whether it was stealing atomic secrets or influencing U.S. foreign policy, communist victories in the 1940s were fed by an incredibly vast spy and influence network…….Speakers detailed many of the cover-ups used to smear McCarthy. Veteran journalist and teacher Stan Evans, director of National Journalism Center, told of the Tydings Committee, which had investigated McCarthy's charges of communists in government. Its report had exonerated everybody. Among the accused it stated categorically that there was no evidence against Owen Lattimore, a man McCarthy said was a major figure in the communist conspiracy. Lattimore had been Roosevelt's key advisor on China policy. Yet Evans showed evidence from 5,000 pages of FBI files on him -- files released only a few years ago to the public, although the White House had access to them. However, evidence before the committee showed that Lattimore had supported Soviet policy at every turn, even declaring that the Stalin purge trials in Russia, "sound like democracy to me." With then-Vice President Henry Wallace in Russia, Lattimore compared concentration camps to the Tennessee Valley Authority, and later urged Washington to abandon China to communism and to withdraw from Japan and Korea. FBI chief J. Edgar Hoover, who had fed information to McCarthy, broke with him afterwards, fearing McCarthy would prejudice FBI sources of information for its criminal prosecutions. ..."

Massachusetts News 2/1/00 Edward Oliver "…..The students at Framingham State College are being "brainwashed in leftism and multiculturalism" by radical feminists who have taken control of the school, according to what many professors tell Massachusetts News. "They have put into place a political culture that is educationally corrupt and operates by bureaucratic tyrannies one associates with Stalinism and anti-utopian novels like 1984," according to the professors. They say it is typical of what is happening at all of the state colleges in Massachusetts. …….. The problems at the state colleges came into public awareness after a popular English professor, Dr. Eugene Narrett, was dismissed in 1997 because of what many believe were his conservative political beliefs. He is now a lecturer at Boston University. He is currently suing the school, as well as its former president, Raymond Kieft, and the former chairman of the English department, Alan Feldman, for violating his free speech rights. He taught at the college for four-and-a-half years……."

Enter Stage Right - A Journal of Modern Conservatism 2/21/00 Charles Morse "….. Karl Marx launched the Communist Manifesto with the declaration "A spectre is haunting Europe - the spectre of communism." Twentieth century Europe witnessed the realization of Marx's specter with Hitler's National Socialism and Lenin and Stalin's International Socialism. The world would be wise to carefully scrutinize any sign of an emergence of these barbarous philosophies and shun any blossoming of this spectre. The blood of millions cries out to us to learn the lessons of these socialist experiments. Socialism, both Nazi and Communist, are both built on the same foundation of hate. Let's at long last have an honest reckoning with the irrefutable fact that the difference between the two socialism's is strictly cosmetic. Both are totalitarian utopian systems that will deprive the individual of life, liberty and property while teaching that it's for the common good. Both set out to transform the human race and human nature by force and in the process, liquidate millions of people who stand in the way of their "progress." One version of socialism contends that certain races stand in the way, the other condemns social classes and refusal to conform to political correctness. Either way, millions of innocent people are murdered by the state, and millions more are condemned to lives of poverty and slavery. While we must watch Joerg Haider and his Austrian Freedom Party and report on his every move, the verdict is still out in terms of whether he is a Nationalist or a National Socialist. He is on record for praising the Hitler regime's policy of full employment and large public works projects. This totalitarian policy would ordinarily warm the cockles of a left wing socialist's heart if this was referring to Stalin's identical programs or for that matter, Roosevelt's New Deal. Full employment is a tenet of the United Nations "Declaration of Human Rights" and is probably part of the European Union agenda. These day's governments and governing bodies generally lean toward the left variant of socialism. That particular variant predominates today at the European Union..…..Haider has apologized for past comments praising Nazi Germany. While we should proceed with caution, he deserves the same benefit of the doubt as, for example, Vladimir Putin, Russia's acting President who was head of the KGB but now claims to be a Christian. ….."

ETHERZONE 2/22/00 William Kaliher "…..It is beyond belief how the left-wing, now through their politically correct goon squads, want to twist language and thinking. Most people, capable of thought, are aware of the socialist's tactics to make language murky. Conservatives laughed at the Clintonista's calling new taxes "contributions," but forgot the frightening aspect that most Democratic voters are already too duped to realize they are being robbed through the use of another euphemism. As each word becomes less concise people lose their ability to communicate clearly or think rationally. There are hundreds of examples of liberals trying to rob words of meaning and making language fuzzy. The press allowed the destruction of the meaning of decimate, no wonder they marveled at Bill Clinton's ability to pretend he didn't know what the word "is" means. The left uses pro-choice to avoid the ramifications of abortion. With some words the left attacks under the guise of compassion. The making of the vernacular use of the word "Queer" into something offensive is one such example. Homosexual and gay sound more neutral in the attempt to disguise the implication of abnormal sex or perversion. ….."

New York Daily News 4/17/00 Charles Krauthammer "….. For years now, we have been hearing President Clinton and other Democratic luminaries (most recently, Bill Bradley) tell us how difficult the world is today compared with Cold War days, when things were easy. Easy because communism was evil and we knew it, and our decisions on how to act were informed by the moral imperative to oppose it. It is a nice little fable. In reality, anti-communism was not the lodestar that guided us all - liberal and conservative - during the Cold War. Almost every anti-Communist initiative championed by conservatives in the last two decades of the Cold War - from Ronald Reagan's arms buildup to aiding the Nicaraguan Contras - met strenuous liberal opposition. The Cold War has been the subject of the most frantic rewriting of history since the days of the Soviet Union itself - the only place, it was once noted, where it was impossible to predict the past. ......... Opposing dictatorship, for example. The left vehemently opposed our friendship with the Philippines (under Ferdinand Marcos) and Chile (under Gen. Augusto Pinochet), allies in opposing communism. (The Philippines, for example, supplied us with Subic Bay and Clark Air Base during the Vietnam War.) Indeed, Clinton went to Africa last year and apologized for America's support of anti-Communist dictators (like Mobutu Sese Seko) during the Cold War. …….."

Enter Stage Right - A Journal of Modern Conservatism 4/10/00 Steve Farrell "…… A half-century ago, in a classic exchange between two men on opposite ends of the moral and political spectrum, Soviet Prime Minister Nikita Khrushchev bragged to American patriot and Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson: "Your grandchildren will live under communism!" To which Secretary Benson enthusiastically replied: "If I have it my way, your grandchildren will live free!" Khrushchev, undeterred, fired back: "Oh you Americans! You're so gullible! We'll spoon feed you socialism until you're Communists and don't even know it. We'll never have to fire a shot!" Ironically, history has to some degree vindicated both men. A greater degree of liberty has arisen, if only temporarily, behind the Iron Curtain, as was Benson's hope; but nevertheless, Khrushchev was also on target - truth be told, more on target. For socialism is still alive and well in Russia, throughout the old Soviet Empire, on all seven continents, on the isles of the sea, at the UN, in its regional arrangements, and as Khrushchev predicted, in the United States. Socialism is not in desperate retreat, as falsely proclaimed by the establishment press, our state university professors and our "all is well" don't-rock-the-boat political machines. On the contrary; it moves forward confidently, aggressively, and for the most part uncontested, everywhere in the world…….."

Jewish World Review 4/14/00 Julia Gorin "…….. THEY MAY PLAY the lamb, hiding behind their fiction novels, "New Yorker" magazines and cultural events calendars. But they are the wolves, the aggressors, the war-makers. Their latest battle is to send Elian Gonzales back to his father, Fidel Castro……… They are the peaceniks, the pro-refugee, pro-choice, anti-gun, anti-capital punishment humanitarians. At first blush, the well-meaners' position on the Gonzales issue seems riddled with inconsistencies, with inversions of their own principles. Whence, for example, this newfound respect for parental rights? And wherefore this uncharacteristic zeal for deporting refugees? …….. But it is no more baffling than their support, nay, demand, for the recent war in Yugoslavia on the side of aggressors. Or their moral support for Marxist revolutionaries the world over, who commit terrorist acts but whom they affectionately refer to as "freedom fighters" and "patriots." ……… It's not the inconsistencies that are so confounding here. It's the constant: Violence. Who else could be creative enough to come up with a bumper sticker like "Save a donut: Kill a cop"? Who else could weigh the worth of one life over another, bolstering a hate-crimes bill which imposes harsher penalties depending on who's assaulted? …….Recall, too, the way sympathy for an unborn child elicits their revulsion while death-row inmates elicit their sympathies. Somehow, it is not our place to end life when that life has taken others, but our inalienable right to do so on certain occasions when it hasn't. ……"

Ether Zone 4/6/00 Steve Farrell "…… A half century ago, in a classic exchange between two men on opposite ends of the moral and political spectrum, Soviet Premier Nikative Kruschev bragged to American Patriot, and Secretary of Agriculture, Ezra Taft Benson: "Your grandchildren will live under communism!" To which Secretary Benson enthusiastically replied: "If I have it my way, your grandchildren will live free!" Kruschev, undeterred, fired back: "Oh you Americans! You're so gullible! We'll spoon feed you socialism, until you're Communists and don't' even know it. We'll never have to fire a shot!" Ironically, history has to some degree vindicated both men. A greater degree of liberty has arisen, if only temporarily, behind the Iron CuArtain, as was Benson's hope; but nevertheless, Kruschev was also on target; truth be told, more on target. For socialism is still alive and well in Russia, throughout the old Soviet Empire, on all seven continents, on the isles of the sea, at the UN, in its regional arrangements, and as Kruschev predicted, in the United States. Socialism is not in desperate retreat, as falsely proclaimed by the establishment press, our state university professors, and our "all is well" don't-rock-the-boat political machines - on the contrary it moves forward confidently, aggressively, and for the most part, uncontestedly, everywhere in the world….."

Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev on Monday characterized Pope John Paul II as "the most important socialist in the world," lauding him for making the plight of the poor and solidarity key themes of his papacy. "Globalization can also have destructive effects but we must pursue, as the pope says, its positive aspects," the former Soviet leader said in a speech to students of Rome's Sapienza University. "Wherever John Paul II goes on his trips, he will always speak of the poor and of solidarity. He is the most important socialist in the world." If globalization is to be fair, the gap between North and South must not be deepened, and political and economic freedom and social justice must be granted, he added. Gorbachev said he was convinced that the outcome of Russia's presidential elections would allow President-elect Vladimir Putin to break with the past. "I have told him this personally," he said. "Now it is up to him to radically change things without losing time." ......"

Housing prices now exceed the reach of the average working person, in part because the political class bars private development of much of the land. (Wouldn't want to turn over the old Presidio to some greedy private home developer. He might use it to make a profit………Then, property taxes -- "rents" to the government for land supposedly privately held -- are jacked up, supposedly punishing only "the greedy rich." Try to pass the levies on to the tenants, and the landlord quickly faces the further refinement of "rent control."…….. Finding all your capital thus tied up, in a locale quickly falling under the heavy hand of state socialism (pardon me, "enlightened land-use policy") what would you do?…….. Claude and Michelline Lambert had an idea. The Lamberts own a small Victorian rooming house in San Francisco, which currently houses long-term renters. The Lamberts decided they could do better converting the building into a small tourist hotel. Of course, they had to apply for a city "permit." Always deft at counting votes, the politicians decided it would be nicer if the Lamberts were to continue renting to their current tenants. But California is not an outright communist state, so the city fathers couldn't simply seize the Lamberts' property, or outright forbid them a legal land use. Instead, the city informed the couple there would be a modest "permit fee" for converting their premises to a small hotel -- $600,000....... The Lamberts offered $100,000, but no more. With the help of the The Pacific Legal Foundation, they then sued the city under the Fifth Amendment, which forbids the government from taking private property without paying just compensation. Pitifully, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 6-3 last week not to review the case (Lambert vs. City of San Francisco), allowing the extortionate $600,000 fee to stand -- with Justices Scalia, Kennedy, and Thomas in dissent......."

It should have been on his treachery and failure to live up to his oath of office." -- U.S. Army Gen. Albion Knight, Jr. (Ret.) ……….. Recently, WorldNetDaily had an in-depth interview with the retired Army general. "After World War II, the top U.S. military leaders taught me to look at the world from a strategic viewpoint -- something that too few leaders have a chance to do. I saw first-hand the magnificent work of Gen. Douglas MacArthur in Japan," said Knight. …….. "I resigned my position at the Department of Energy in protest over the Carter administration's disarmament desires. We lost the war in Vietnam for one simple reason: The U.S. government did not want to win the war. Carter's policies were a continuation of that policy of defeat, retreat and surrender vis-a-vis the betrayal of Iran, Nicaragua, Rhodesia, Afghanistan and the near betrayal of South Korea. …….. "But in 1980, President Ronald Reagan began his great work to restore America's pride and military." …….. "Reagan's message was this: 'I am proud to be an American. I will fulfill my oath of office to keep our people safe from all dangers, foreign and domestic.' He understood America's vital role in being a source of freedom in a very dangerous world and that, to remain free, we had to be strong. He also had the ability to speak the truth in a believable, simple and direct way. Americans trusted him." ……."

World Net Daily 5/6/00 Anthony LoBaido "…… During the 1980s, Knight was involved in a unique project. He and others were asked by members of the Reagan administration to draft a list of goals that would be the framework of a Marxist president if one were to be elected to lead the United States. "We concluded that a Marxist and / or communist president, if he ever came to power, would focus on the transfer of national sovereignty at every opportunity to international organizations. He or she would also weaken the armed forces physically, mentally and spiritually. The 'dumbing down' of our public school educational system would also accelerate." …………"Furthermore, we decided that a Marxist president would assist all or most of America's enemies -- Russia, China, Cuba, radical Islam, North Korea and others. He would disregard the Constitution at every opportunity and rule by decree, meaning executive orders would earmark such an administration. Bogus arms control agreements, buying-off or intimidating Congress by stealing the FBI files of its members, controlling the media and trying to stop all alternative media would also be major goals." ……… In addressing the two terms in office of President Bill Clinton, Gen. Knight is resolute. "What has Clinton done in this regard? He has hit every one of the above actions and more. I have a file over six inches thick with articles describing these actions. The salami slices add-up to a message of treason. Sex and perjury were the wrong impeachment offenses. It should have been on his treachery and failure to live up to his oath-of-office. ……"

No, this was the message I heard from dozens of earnest and thoroughly pierced young men and women on college campuses throughout Illinois. ……. The rock-star awe for Ralph Nader and the encomiums to Castro notwithstanding, what was most shocking about my experience is how conservative America's left has become. Stealing from the other side's playbook In the 1955 charter of National Review, William F. The fact is that these are the goals of the U.N.-funded Commission on Global Governance, published in Our Global Neighborhood in 1995. These goals are given visibility by the well- funded, carefully orchestrated tactics of the U.N.'s "civil society" army of non-government organizations (NGOs). ….. One of the most interesting aspects of the post-Cold War period is the transformation of the San Francisco Democrat types from pacifists to militant warmongers in the area of foreign policy. Today in a class of mine, the year old Kosovo intervention was discussed and debated. And lo and behold the same 25 kids that daily denounce my "insensitivity," "mean-spiritedness" and "intolerance" whined that we "didn't hit the Serbs hard enough." I pointed out to these kids that NATO bombs killed an estimated 15,000 innocent Serbs and left Yugoslavia more destabilized than when we came in. I also pointed out the little factoid about Bill Clinton's cruel policy of keeping economic sanctions on the Serbian people unless their dying, starving, elderly and young overthrow Slobodan Milosovec……. Oh, and of course the more inconvenient facts that after all the talk of "genocide," "ethnic cleansing," and a "New Hitler," the hysteriacs on the left only have slightly over 2,000 dead Kosovars to show from Serb atrocities. Tragedy? Yes. Holocaust? No. I also asked why the media, which foamed at the mouth to bring destruction on Serbia, has been so silent since the bombs stopped falling? Then there is that good stuff about pushing relations with Russia back to Cold War levels and accidentally dropping a bomb on a Chinese embassy, but we won't delve into that…… "

"... a lot of the Asian societies that are doing very well now have low crime rates and high economic growth rates, partly because they have very coherent societies with strong units where the unit is more important than the individual, whether it's the family unit or the work unit or the community unit…….. My own view is that you can go to the extreme in either direction. And when we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, it was assumed that the Americans who had that freedom would used it responsibly. That is, when we set up this country, abuse of people by government was a big problem. So if you read the Constitution, it's rooted in the desire to limit the ability of government's ability to mess with you, because that was a huge problem. It can still be a huge problem. But it assumed that people would basically be raised in coherent families, in coherent communities, and they would work for the common good, as well as for the individual welfare. ............What's happened in America today is, too many people live in areas where there's no family structure, no community structure, and no work structure. And so there's a lot of irresponsibility. And so a lot of people say there's too much personal freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it. That's what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we're going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities. So that's my answer to you. We can have -- the more personal freedom a society has, the more personal responsibility a society needs, and the more strength you need out of your institutions -- family, community and work......."-- Bill Clinton, President of the United States, on MTV's "Enough Is Enough."

Within it dwells a basic dishonesty that is freshly woven into the threads of its existence. It's the dishonesty of intellectual discourse where the weight of empirical evidence is purposely ignored, a dishonesty that strikes at the very heart of mankinds learning as it continues to strive to better itself, a dishonesty that throws truths along with judicious enquiry & examination into the waste bin of dismissed thought. The dishonesty occurs because liberals and socialists when finding their concepts blocked by reason & logic abandon the very process that leads to fresh ideas and concepts by trying to overpower the public with a blanket of emotion. While compassion and charity are adjuncts to better understanding, it certainly should not be the major factor in reaching decisions. Emotions cloud understanding with a fog that causes misjudgments of reason. It is by reason mankind elevates himself from the animals of the earth, and by solving problems expands his universe……."

The University of Washington - Educational Forum - Vo.13 No.4 5/1949 Raymond Allen "….. The question of whether a member of the Communist Party should be allowed to teach in an American college is by no means a simple one. Despite the fact that many persons in educational circles appear to find easy answers to this question, those of us who have examined the question most carefully perhaps find the answers more difficult. ……Out of this long and painstaking examination I have come reluctantly to the conclusion that members of the Communist Party should not be allowed to teach in American colleges. I am now convinced that a member of the Communist Party is not a free man. Freedom, I believe is the most essential ingredient of American civilization and democracy. In the American scheme educational institutions are the foundation stones upon which real freedom rests. Educational institutions can prosper only as they maintain free teaching and research. To maintain free teaching and research the personnel of higher education must accept grave responsibilities and duties as well as the rights and privileges of the academic profession. A teacher must, therefore, be a free seeker after the truth. If, as Jefferson taught, the real purpose of education is to seek out and teach the truth wherever it may lead, then the first obligation and duty of the teacher is to be a free man. Any restraint on the teacher's freedom is an obstacle to the accomplishment of the most important purposes of education. ……." 5/17/00 Walter Williams "……. Capitalism always loses when compared to the promises of communism and socialism. Why? Because you're comparing a system that exists on earth, warts and all, with a utopia, something that doesn't exist on earth. Let's ignore the fact that we who live in countries on the capitalist end of the economic spectrum are far richer than our fellow man living in countries toward the socialist/communist end. Instead, let's look at life and death. It's safe to say that countries toward the socialist/communist end of the economic spectrum are the world's most brutal. What's worse is that liberals in America and elsewhere give these barbarians a free ride. …….. Here's my question: When have you heard; what annual ceremonies are held; and what museums have been erected to commemorate the victims of communism and socialism? Liberals around the world give communists and socialists a free ride, but let's see whether it's justified. The former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is the world's premier murderer. Between 1917 and 1987, the U.S.S.R. murdered 65 million people. Red China comes in second place with a murder count of 35 million. That number is being revised upward with more information coming out of China. Houston Chronicle 5/17/00 Donald Smith "…….One of the more significant differences between conservatives and liberals is established long before they lock their philosophies into political positions. It is the running battle between simplicity (conservatives) and complexity (liberals). When I am accused of being "simplistic," I know that I am talking with someone who walks down the left side of the street. With liberals, "simplistic" ranks right up there with "judgmental." ...... The bedrock foundation of conservative thinking is found in the search for simple solutions. Such thinking is abhorrent to the liberal who worships at the shrine of complexity. ……. The flat tax, for example, is something that is popular with conservatives. They aren't trying to get out of paying taxes but want to simplify the process: no deductions, no write-offs and no sliding scale. Above all, there would be no forms that require an accountant to complete. Liberals want no part of this because they are suspicious of simplicity. Most of our social problems have simple solutions. The answer to alcoholism, for example, is to quit drinking. But this, say the liberals, isn't that easy. No, it isn't, but it is still the only solution to a drinking problem. ……"

But, as Smith College professor Daniel Horowitz (no relation) revealed in his book Betty Friedan and the Making of the Feminist Mystique, Betty was not very candid about the facts of her own life and the sources of her radical perspective. She was hardly a suburban housewife when she wrote those words, but a twenty-five year veteran of professional journalism in the Communist Left, where she had been thoroughly indoctrinated in the politics of "the woman question" and specifically the idea that women were "oppressed."………As Horowitz's biography makes clear, Friedan, from her college days and until her mid-thirties, was a Stalinist marxist (or a camp follower thereof), the political intimate of leaders of America's Cold War fifth column, and for a time even the lover of a young communist physicist working on atomic bomb projects with J. Sanger's philosophical Nazism and association with the German Nazi movement, along with an examination of her career, indicate that her focus on abortion and birth control, rather than motivated by "choice", was actually a reflection of her belief in eugenics and genocidal population control. The left and the emerging globalist establishment largely adopted her policies, albeit in a sanitized and re-marketed version, after WWII and the defeat of the Nazi experiment. ……… Given the fact that our tax dollars support International Planned Parenthood, with their "family planning program" of forced abortions, forced sterilization, infanticide, and advocacy of euthanasia in Communist China, it is reasonable that we look at the career of their primary founder. Thanks for your posts. IMO any trashing of Hillary Clinton is justified and legitimate but am pleased to see we're now REALLY getting down to the the business of exposing her for the Communist she is; which is reflected in everything she does as she plays around with taking advantage of our social disorder and spiritual unrest in this country; and IMO often uses her postition to promote it.
Am particulary interested in the "Co-President's" formative years and only recently came upon the info she had gotten "her start" when one of her Yale Professors, Thomas Emerson, known as "Tommy the Commie" (Thanks to author Barbara Olson) introduced her to Charles Garry, who reportedly guided her involvement in the support of the Black Panther Party. …..
Back to Hillary during the days of her coke bottle glasses: At Yale Hillary started gaining prominence in the protest movement by strutting around with a black armband in remembrance of Kent State and opportunistically led demonstrations against anything she could come up with, including the lack of tampons in rest rooms. Bobby Seale represented another opportunity and she hit the court room every day leading a gaggle of activist student radicals.
That a student with a brain could idolize the Panthers and recognize them as leaders of a "necessary" black insurrection against the white establishment is not all that amazing when one thinks of the early days of the Panther movement... because they started out being motivated by good things when Seale and Huey Newton got the organization rolling like a neighborhood support team in Oakland.
However, that an acivtist from Yale with a brain could get hung up on the Panthers by the time the group had included murder in their agenda is beyond my comprehension; except when it comes to profiling Hillary who IMO could be considered certifiable when it comes to her lust for power.
The Panthers had the household name recognition she seemingly aspired to so it was as far back as the New Haven trials IMO that Hillary decided nothing was sacred but finding her "place in the sun." It was then, too, she learned to use Blacks to get herself in the spotlight she still has turned on everytime she thinks it's convenient to project the image of a minority crowd pleaser.
We've read about this power thing so often it rolls of peoples' backs but the significance is very relative to the unholy alliances she's made throughout her adult life. Americans who truly care have got to get a handle on this because it's where the danger lies. This is a woman who has the ability to ignore everything evil, including not being fazed by a Black Panther Party that eventually justified the rape of white women by black men as a poltical act of protest against white oppression and ultimately glorified the annihilation of law officers they designated as "pigs."
Hillary obviously had no misgivings about Garry's client's violent rhetoric: "If Bobby dies, Yale fries." Nor did she take a walk when they openly called for police assassinations. Despite being the pits, in all fairness - this could reasonably be chalked up to the fact attending the trial was part of her course work assigned by Professor Emerson. (But IMO that's really stretching it enough and certainly doesn't white wash her activities thereafter.)
"Tommie the Commie" clearly knew how to pick 'em (just as Clinton's mentors had no trouble picking him) for as opportunist and bright as Hillary is, she certainly fell right in line with Emerson's tutoring. (How many of our other "brightest" keep getting suckered into thinking they're so intellectually superior they should be setting the pace for those who don't measure up to their scholastic achievements? Because of OBE I now raise my eyebrows when someone brags about their honor student.)
Yale and other campuses were battlegrounds for privileged white students who wanted to show solidarity with groups like The Black Panthers and invoke social changes; but the radicals went so far out so fast, nobody could relate to what was happening on the homefront. Watching the news was like checking out a fictional series as I remember those days.
At first nobody took student protests seriously. Big deal - at first just some spoiled brats exercising their First Amendment privileges. So what? Then they got carried away and it was something I couldn't understand at all as an individual who had only socialized on a campus but hadn't ever been exposed to "Tommie the Commie" type professors instructing classes.
Hillary's leadership qualities for anti-social, anti-establishment issues put her in the driver's seat and her organizational skills kept her there when it came to developing the team of students assigned by Emerson to monitor the Bobby Seale trial. Another big activity was to report alleged civil rights abuses.
Clearly, knowing what I learned from Garry in one long afternoon, can well understand why Hillary gravitated to him and how impressed she must have been by this truly charismatic individual who reportedly was the first to introduce her to off-campus links to the Communist party. …... Had read the copy of his book he gave us, called "Street Fighter in the Court Room" (written long before Clinton's came into power) so thought I knew pretty much everything about him. Hadn't a clue until recently how involved he was with interacting with the hotshots who ran the west coast Communist Party with pro-Stalinists like Robert Treuhaft and his wife, the late Jessica Miford.
Hillary met these people through Garry and eventually - I think in l972 - went to wok for Treuhaft (possibly a one-time law partner of Garry's - am still researching but I seem to remember that name mentioned)...
Be that as it may... unquestionably, Hillary was up to her ears in Communism. Read somewhere where Mitford had condemned the Hungarian Freedom Fighters for thowing Molotov cocktails at Soviet tanks during the Cold War. (Remember that conflict well as I was assisting in monitoring troop movements around Budapest with Ordnance Division, Hqs USAREUR.) Couldn't have mattered to Hillary because she later paved the way for Mitford to lobby Bill Clinton on the death penalty according to Barbara Olson's book "Hell to Pay" - "The Unfolding Story of Hillary Rodham Clinton."
Haven't had time to get back to it but the browse looked mighty interesting. The author has served as an attorney for the Department of Justice, as a Congressional investigator, and as a general counsel in the United States Senate.
In the Garry portion, Olson presented an exerp from David Brock's "Seduction of Hillary Clinton" as he quoted historian Stephen Schwartz as saying about Treuhaft and Mitford (and assumed which obviously included our pal Charlie with Hillary along for the ride during a summer internship where she worked for Treuhaft on behalf of indigent criminal defendants in Berkeley ~ this strong quote REALLY blew me away): "This was a group of hard Communists who had been running the Communist Party of Northern California...It was a political organization those loyalty to the Soviet Union was explicit, whose discipline was Stalinistic, and whose intellecual attitudes were mainly Stalinist... Treuhaft is not like the Black Panthers. Treuhaft is a man who dedicated his entire legal career to advancing the agenda of the Soviet Communist Party and the KGB."
Meanwhile, the so-called "First Lady" of the United States of America has never discussed her affiliation with these hard-core Communists. The way things are today, it wouldn't matter to me if she did... her actions have spoken for her. ….."

The Washington Times 9/29/00 Paul Craig Roberts "…….. Tyranny is creeping up on us. If you don't believe it, consider the most prominent hallmarks of the Nazi and communist regimes, which sought to supplant democracy in the 20th century. In National Socialist Germany and the Soviet Union, there were no First Amendment rights. No one could voice an opinion contrary to the politically correct views enforced by the Gestapo and the KGB. Media and education were used to instill politically correct thinking and bring denunciation upon anyone who departed from politically correct thinking. …….. This is precisely the situation that exists today in the vast majority of American colleges and universities. Verbal and facial expressions that are contrary to political correctness result in sensitivity training (a form of brainwashing) or expulsion for the offender, who may have done nothing more than laugh. If the source of mirth is an ethnic joke, a blonde joke or a hilarious claim by a multiculturalist, the hapless offender discovers that his constitutional protections do not exist. ........." 9/24/00 Carl Limbcher "…… While a student at Yale Law school, First Lady Hillary Clinton helped defend a revolutionary group that called for the assassination of white political leaders -- including then-President Nixon, a supermarket tabloid reports this week. In its October 3 edition, the National Enquirer explores Mrs. Clinton's ties to the Black Panthers, a group she helped defend as a campus radical while editing a student newspaper that advocated the killing of cops. ……. While Clinton's relationship to the violently anti-American group has been amply documented in such books as Joyce Milton's "First Partner" and Barbara Olson's "Hell to Pay," mainstream reporters have avoided the topic. The Enquirer is the first print publication to cover the story since Hillary announced her bid for U.S. Senate. Its report goes further than any other so far to document the extreme nature of the Panthers, a group she avidly supported. ……"

WorldNetDaily 9/19/00 Dr Samual Blumenfeld "....... Back in 1993, I received a 49-page report entitled "Secret: FBI Documents Link Bill & Hillary Clinton to Marxist-Terrorist Network," published by the Sunset Research Group of Wichita, Kan. It was a meticulously documented report showing the connections of the Clintons to the Institute for Policy Studies, a Marxist think tank in Washington. Clinton's top economic advisor was Derek Shearer, an IPS operative and advocate of Marxist socialism. Shearer's sister Brooke was also Hillary's traveling companion. The report states: ........ In a 1980 book he authored, Shearer confided that he and others were planning to so influence the Democratic Party that a President sharing their Marxist-socialist views could soon be elected.

Shearer and so many other Marxists realized that the only way to impose Marxist socialism on America was by way of the strategy outlined by Antonio Gramsci (pronounced "gram-shee"), the Italian communist, who had much time to think about such things while imprisoned for many years in Italy. His "Prison Notebooks" were widely read and studied by communists in the West. Gramsci analyzed Western culture and concluded that the only way that communists could finally impose their totalitarian will over the West was by first taking over its educational, cultural and religious institutions. This would require years of stealthful infiltration. The report quotes a passage from a book about Gramsci: Antonio Gramsci ... argued that power is best attained in developed, industrialized countries through a gradual process of radicalization of the cultural institutions (the "superstructure") of bourgeois society, a process that would in turn transform the values and morals of the society. Gramsci believed that as society's morals were softened, so its political and economic foundation would be more easily smashed and reconstructed........"

WorldNetDaily 9/19/00 Dr Samual Blumenfeld ".......In light of the above quote, it is quite obvious that Bill Clinton has been the perfect Gramscian president. In addition to everything else he has done to expand government, his affair with Monica Lewinsky has certainly contributed to a softening of society's morals in that his lewd behavior has become the subject of casual conversation among students in our schools and contributed to their own descent into perversion. Comedians can now tell jokes about Clinton's behavior that would have been unthinkable only a few years ago. The Gramscian strategy also explains why Clinton could not be shamed into resigning. Degrading the presidency could only help the leftist cause. ......... Also, the current attack on the Boy Scouts because of their refusal to admit open homosexuals indicates to what extent decency is now on the defensive in America. When some large corporations start ending their support of a highly moral institution because it insists on maintaining high moral standards of decency, that's a sign that the Gramsci strategy is working. ......"

WorldNetDaily 9/19/00 Dr Samual Blumenfeld ".......He ordered the bombing of Belgrade, the first European capital to be bombed since the end of World War II. And he has approved the transformation of NATO from a defensive organization to an offensive one that could very well trigger World War III. According to the Coalition of Politically Active Christians, Clinton has used 323 executive orders and 82 presidential decision directives to further his agenda. EO 13061 has put all of America's major rivers and tributaries under federal control. PDD 25 has placed American troops under United Nations' command. Only a newly elected constitutional president could reverse those decisions and orders. ......... What is so indicative of Clinton's Gramscian strategy is the fact that he was able to rise to power projecting a moderate Bubba image while secretly adhering to a left-wing radical political philosophy. The fact that he was so clever in hiding his true beliefs is one of the reasons why he has been so successful. .......... And what did radical Hillary Clinton do as soon as she and her husband were in the White House? Organize a conference to draw up a plan for universal health care, also known as socialized medicine. It should be noted that Hillary first had contact with the IPS at Yale. As director and chair of the New World Foundation in 1978, Hillary gave monetary contributions to far left groups including IPS. She gave $15,000 to the National Lawyers Guild, the legal arm of the Communist Party USA. ....... Shortly after Clinton took office, Derek Shearer was appointed deputy undersecretary of Commerce for Economic Affairs in February 1993. In February 1994 Clinton named him ambassador to Finland, a job Shearer held until October 1997. ......."

NewsMax 1/2/01 Phil Brennan "...... It's over. What was probably the bloodiest century in mankind's long history became an unpleasant memory at 12:01 a.m., January 1st, 2001...... While there's certainly no pleasure to be had in recalling the unspeakable horrors of the 20th century, it's vitally important to our future that we take the time to consider one of the lessons we can learn from that horrendous period in our history - the slaughter of tens of millions of our brothers and sisters all across the globe, and who did the killing........The great majority of the victims of this murderous century were slain by Marxist governments. ...... Why do I belabor these unpleasant facts? Simply because Marxism survives and lives on here in the United States of America......Sure, it's far from being what it became in Russia, China, Germany and Eastern Europe, but make no mistake about it, allow socialism to make further inroads into our system of government and we will have set off down the road that inevitably leads to a coercive police state and all that it entails.......It took a while to get here, but now that we are let it be said loud and clear that as the new administration takes office and begins to attempt to implement its plans and programs George Bush is going to run head on into Karl Marx. He's going to encounter him on Capitol Hill where the Democrat leadership is Marxist to the core, in the corrupt and thoroughly socialist mainstream media, marching through the halls of academia and the leftist think tanks and environmental activist organizations that infest Washington........"

Washington Weekly 12/18/00 Trafficant "....Mr. Speaker, America's trade deficit for September hit $35 billion for one month, $35 billion. America is heading for a $420 billion, 1-year trade deficit. Unbelievable. If this continues, America will have a crash that will make 1929 look like a fender-bender. What is even worse, China is now taking $100 billion of cash out of our economy, buying missiles, and pointing them at us. Beam us up, all of us. We must be stupid. Ronald Reagan almost destroyed Communism, and the Clinton administration has reinvented it, is now subsidizing it, and is now stabilizing it. I yield back any common sense left and any patriotism left in this Congress. ...."

Washington Times 11/21/00 "……The center-right opposition Quad-Coalition swept the second round of voting for one-third of the Czech Senate, dealing a severe blow to the ruling Social Democrats, election data showed yesterday. The result from Sunday's election effectively killed plans by the minority government and its parliamentary ally, the Civic Democrats (ODS), to slash the powers of President Vaclav Havel through constitutional reform……The outcome boosted the Quad-Coalition's faction in the Senate and stripped the Social Democrats and the ODS of their majority in the 81-seat house. ….." 10/30/00 "…….Aldous Huxley said it best 56 years ago: "A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude. To make them love it is the task assigned, in present totalitarian states, to ministries of propaganda, newspaper editors and schoolteachers. But their methods are still crude and unscientific." That was certainly true 56 years ago. Today, I would suggest, the biggest change is that the methods are less crude, more scientific. ….. In fact, America is moving closer to totalitarianism and servitude -- and most people don't even recognize it, let alone need to be coerced. ……….. "

Communist Party website 10/00 "..... The next weeks are a time for all those on the side of the working class to step up to the plate and make history. The results of the 2000 elections will determine much about the decades to come. ......Will we be plummeted into a reactionary era of union busting, take backs, division and environmental destruction dictated by the ultra-right? Or will we broaden and deepen the fight against racism and bigotry, build new unity among labor and allies at the grass roots, and emerge in place to go on to the offensive for the needs of the working class and people? ......... Gore's emphasis on working families and his call that the presidency should fight for all the people is a reflection of the power of the successful organizing drives of the new labor movement. It is also a reflection of a new era of protest aimed at capitalist globalization and a new anti- corporate spirit among young people. ....... The working class is in motion. A victory by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney will set back that motion. A victory by the Democrats in the race for the presidency, the House and the Senate will allow the space to move to new heights of struggle and new forms of political independence. While the Green Party platform is good, it is lacking in the most important issue of this election - the necessity to defeat the ultra-right. In this tight, life-and-death election, the strongest anti-corporate vote is a vote for the ticket that can win against Bush/Cheney in 2000. ......"
